Every Step We Take Together Brings Us Closer to a Brighter Future
Dear Reader,
As the year comes to a close, we’re filled with gratitude for the incredible support we’ve received so far. Thanks to the generosity of donors like you, and our local business donors and corporate sponsors. We’ve made significant progress in caring for our Budgie Altin, Leilani, Tunia (our two formerly feral cats) and the other animals at our facility.
However, we still have a long way to go to reach our year-end fundraising goal and ensure continued care for Altin and our growing community. Your support can make the difference between simply getting by and thriving in 2025.
Altin’s Chiropractic Visit
Our avian chiropractor, Dr Lisa Devlin, drove into Reno from the Bay Area the Saturday before Christmas. She saw and treated Altin on Christmas Eve late morning. Altin’s x rays allowed Dr Devlin to show me exactly what is going on with the joints in is injured right leg. His hock (knee) is in a good position, however, it is his ankle that we see in its current backward position.
Together we reviewed the physical therapy massage and exercises that our Holistic Avian Veterinarian suggested be done. And, a plus from this in-person visit, was that Dr Devlin taught me additional massage techniques to help relieve the muscle stress in his neck, back and hips.

How You Can Help
Your donation directly contributes to:
Altin’s care: Chiropractic session, holistic vet consultation, and other essential treatments and care. Donate to Altin’s Go Fund Me campaign.We still need $220 to reach our goal.
Operational costs: Our present facility runs on a monthly budget of $3,000, covering everything from feeding, to utilities, to transportation to veterinary bills.
Our Future Facility: It is projected that monthly operating costs for our expanded new facility will be a minimum of $6,000 per month.
The Long-term Future: We are working hard to build a six-month cash reserve of $36,000 to provide sustainable care for all animals in our program in our new facility.
We can create a world where, instead of living with hunger, abuse, and freezing temperatures, animals are loved, valued and respected for their individual uniqueness. We can create our Ark, our Emerald Ark as we bring together animal lovers to give love to the animals and receive love and gratitude as one.
